Sesame street music video
The challenge for this project is to create a short educational animation for 5-10 years old kids using various mediums.
Me and my teammate Hannah Nguyen decided to make an animation about rainbow and colors in rainbows. ChatGPT helped us come up with some ideas and we thought rainbows are not too difficult to understand but still interesting and colorful which is appropriate for 5-10 years old kids.

Sesame Street
Sesame Street is an American educational children’s television series that combines live action, sketch comedy, animation and puppetry.
Their audiences are children 5-10 and parents, teachers, and caregivers.
THE CHALLENGE
Create an animated segment for Sesame Street. This project will
combine all your knowledge of 2D and 3D animation as well as the hand skills learned in Animation Techniques to create a whimsical, tactile and fun animation for one of the world’s most successful franchises.
rainbow
Rainbow is a optical phenomenon caused by refraction, internal reflection and dispersion of light in water droplets resulting in a continuous spectrum of light appearing in the sky.
Rainbow need white light and water droplets to be made.
And white light is made out of 7 colors which is red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and purple also known as “ROYGBIV”. We see rainbow after rainy day because the water droplets in the air works as a prism and scatters light into 7 colors.
THE CHALLENGE
Explain how/why rainbows are made without making it over complicated yet look interesting. Try not to be too scientific and detailed about how rainbows are made. Concept can be more abstract than literal.

It was challenging for us to come up with a story that informative and simple but still interesting. And we ended up over-complicating the story and it wasn’t clear to understand. So, we decided to make a song about the rainbow so it’s easier to understand and make the audiences interested.

How we came up with the lyrics.
We asked ChatGPT to create short educational song for 5-10 years old kids about rainbow. We had to be very specific about it. And after we satisficed with our lyrics, we polished it by changing the order and few words.

Process
Making probs for stop motion / live footage
After shooting all the live footage on greenscreen, we started keying. But the challenge was to roto scope all the greens in puppets so it doesn’t disappear with the greenscreen background.
